Exciting forward Matt Amado, from the Gold Coast Blue Tongues, has set an AIHL record (Total Goals in a Season) after scoring his 40th goal last weekend against the Melbourne Ice.
The ever dangerous Amado, who eclipsed his own record of 39 goals (in just 20 games) in a season; set in 2007 with the Brisbane Blue Tongues, finished the weekend on 41 goals and still has four games left to increase his already remarkable tally.
In total, Amado has scored 67 points this season and sits in third place on the League Leading Players standings behind Addison De Boer (Canberra Knights) on 75 points and Peter Cartwright (Newcastle North Stars) with 71 points.

#16 Matt Amado posesses incredible skill with the puck, even on his knees.
The AIHL records of 81 points and 51 assists, set last season by North Stars forward Brian Bales is under threat from the magical stick of De Boer.
With four games left to play, De Boer, who currently has 49 assists, has ample time to set two new league records in the coming weeks.
