The Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) has announced that due to the Rhinos utilising an illegal player in their game of the 20th of April, 2008 that the Rhinos have forfeited their win to the Blue Tongues by a margin of 5-0.

Goaltender Markus Claesson is not cleared to play in the AIHL until the 3rd of May, but played in goal for the game of the 20th. Further to forfeiting the game, the Rhinos have been fined for the breach.

The forfeit puts the Rhinos back on 0 competition points, and gives the Blue Tongues their only win so far of the season, now on 3 points.
